I am a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #119898) practicing in West Los Angeles.
My education has included Jungian theories, creativity, LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy, and spiritual/depth psychology. Other areas of interest include 12-step recovery, social justice, activism, the performing arts and entertainment, facilitating support groups, and helping caregivers cope with stress and grief.
I started my clinical training by counseling seniors with memory loss and their spouses in 1-on-1 and group sessions at a day care center. This included expressive art therapy exercises, mindful breathing and meditation, and cognitive stimulation.
For my first master's thesis, I studied Native American two spirits (pre-colonial role models with multiple genders) through a Jungian lens. I also developed and published a theory of Gay Male Goddess Archetypes and led a workshop on queer spirituality and active imagination.
Note: I have no indigenous ancestry. I do have a deep interest in helping people reframe their experience of gender identity and/or sexual orientation in body-positive, affirming, healing ways. Within and outside my therapeutic work, I strive to uncover and dismantle my own privilege. I think this helps to meet you where you are, while also honoring our differences.
